New York Skyliners Alumni announces 2025 Music Program

| |

With an abbreviated 2024 season concluded, the New York Skyliners Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps has set their sights on a reinvigorated and exciting 2025 season. Formed in 1994 by former members of the New York Skyliners Senior Drum and Bugle Corps, the corps continues to entertain crowds by performing the legacy music of their master arranger – Herman “Hy” Dreitzer.

The Creative Team has constructed a repertoire based on the 2024 music program but with a couple of twists and featuring some of the ‘Greatest Hits’ of the Skyliners through the years. The program is sure to be both enjoyable and toe-tapping.

In 2025, the corps repertoire will be:

  • “Manhattan Tower” by Gordon Jenkins (1946) as the Opening Fanfare
  • “Little Old New York” by Jerry Brock (1960) for the Broadway musical “Tenderloin” as played by the 1971 Skyliners during that championship year
  • “Second Rhapsody” by George Gershwin (1931)
  • “Alabama Jubilee” by George Cobb (1915)
  • “Lullaby of Broadway” by Harry Warren (1935)
  • An Exit medley of “Give My Regard to Broadway” by George M. Cohan (1904) for his musical play
  • “Little Johnny Jones” and “42nd Street” by Harry Warren (1932) for the musical of the same name
  • “SKY Signature” derived from “Every Streets a Boulevard (in old New York) by Jule Styne (1953) for the musical “Hazel Flag”
  • “The ELKS Parade” by Bobby Sherwood (1942)
