Celebration Of Life For ‘Robby’ Robinson
A celebration of the life of World Drum Corps Hall of Fame member Harold ‘Robby’ Robinson will take place April 9, 2022. He died peacefully at age 83 at his home in Gordonville, Pennsylvania on Valentine’s Day February 14.
He was also a member of the Crossmen Hall of Fame and the Drum Corps International (DCI) Hall of Fame.
A Catholic Mass will be held on April 9 at SS Simon & Jude Church, Route 3 and 352 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. A greeting line starts at 10 am with a mass at 11 am. A reception and celebration of life will follow downstairs in the activity center beginning at noon. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Villanova University, he enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1959. He served as a tank commander and qualified sharpshooter, receiving an honourable discharge in 1966.
His early drum corps involvement was with Tri Community Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps in Newton Square, Pennsylvania. He was a judge and instructor through the 1960s, eventually reuniting with longtime friend Denny White to resurrect the Tri County Cadets, who evolved into the Crossmen in 1974. As founding director, he guided the Crossmen from 1975 through 1985, when he retired from drum corps activity to found his own printing company.
